Built on the strengths of the regions two largest medical facilities, Glenwood Regional Medical Center and St. Francis Medical Center , the Northeast Louisiana Cancer Institute offers a program of cancer services designed to benefit individual patients, as well as their families and the entire community. Both hospitals are certified by the American College of Surgeons as Comprehensive Community Cancer Centers.
In Monroe, the Northeast Louisiana Cancer Institute is located within one block of St. Francis Medical Center at the corner of Calypso and Hall streets. It is a 30,000 square-foot building, which offers both radiation and chemotherapy treatment (provided by Oncology Associates)and houses the SFMC Tumor Registry and offices of the registered dietitian and social worker.
On the West side of the Ouachita River, the Institute provides radiation therapy with state-of-the-art equipment inside of Glenwood Regional Medical Center, located at 503 McMillan Road in West Monroe. It houses the GRMC Tumor Registry and provides a full range of outpatient and inpatient services.
Our staff of skilled, dedicated cancer experts work as a team, pooling diverse training and experience to assess each patient's illness from every perspective. Together, they develop a coordinated treatment plan and implement it with the most complete range of cancer care services available in Northeast Louisiana, including the latest medications, methods and technologies for fighting cancer.
LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR"Home Is Where The Hope Is"Dealing with a cancer diagnosis and treatment can be overwhelming. That's why the Northeast Louisiana Cancer Institute uses the slogan "Home Is Where The Hope Is." Our slogan emphasizes that cancer patients have the option to stay at home for state-of-the-art treatment as opposed to traveling away to the "big city." Receiving treatment at "home" means being able to remain close to family, friends, and loved ones.
It is our goal to offer our patients advanced treatment technology in a courteous environment while administering a high level of patient care. We are proud to inform you that our patient satisfaction scores are consistently in the 95 to 98 percentile range.
State-of-the-art technology combined with dedicated physicians and a highly trained professional staff equals something that all of Northeast Louisiana can be proud of. We are here if you need us.
James Adams, BSRT (R)(T), MBA Executive Director
